Questions & Answers about Royal Crown 1 Carat Antique Style Engraved 18 Karat White Gold Engagement Ring Setting

If I ordered a setting, what is the best way to have it set with a diamond? I have the diamond already, I'm in Alabama. If I get someone here to set the diamond for me will that void my warranty?
Our insurance company does not permit us to set customer owned gemstones, so you would need to find a local jeweler to set your diamond for you.
Our warranty applies to items which have never been altered or worked on by a jeweler other than the Antique Jewelry Mall. Very few jewelers offer warranties on rings, as rings are subject to the rigors of daily wear, and with regard to the few who do, there is no company selling jewelry that we have ever encountered which will guarantee the workmanship of an item after another jeweler has altered that item to set a gemstone. If an outside jeweler sets a gemstone or re-sizes a ring for a customer, it would void the warranty from us, because the ring will have been altered at that point.
We have sold thousands of ring settings to customers who have had a local jeweler successfully set a stone for them. When choosing a local jeweler, please note that all jewelers are NOT of equal skill, and there is no system for licensing jewelers, and that there are some who do not guarantee the workmanship of their repair and custom work.
Occasionally customers call us asking for help after a local jeweler has ruined their new ring setting or chipped their diamond in the process of attempting to set the stone. Whether you purchase a ring setting from us or another company, you should be sure that the local jeweler you choose to set your stone guarantees their work in writing and is insured against damage to your diamond.
The first indication of an honest jeweler is one who has a fair return policy and warranty on their own items. It is best to avoid any jeweler who has a "no returns", "no refunds" or "store credit only" policy on the items they sell.
One more thing to consider, before purchasing a setting from us or any other company, you will want to be sure that the diameter measurements for your stone are within those specified with the ring setting you are considering. For instance, this setting will securely accommodate a round brilliant cut diamond of 6.4 - 6.6 millimeters in diameter. This setting is also available in identical versions for a smaller diamond, if these measurements do not correspond with those of your diamond.
Diameter measurements in millimeters can be found on a diamond report or appraisal, or you can have the jeweler who will be setting your diamond measure the stone for you.
With the certainty that you have the correct diamond measurements for a setting you are considering, you can be confident that your diamond can be set securely for a lifetime by a competent jeweler.
