We are so glad you love your ring - it is always nice to hear from another happy customer!
Grease, dirt, lotions and soap can easily get trapped in jewelry, which causes jewelry to start to appear duller over time. You can clean your peridot, diamond and gold jewelry in a small bowl of sudsy hot water and liquid soap (never use bleach!), with a child's toothbrush once a month. Rinse in a small bowl of clean water.
It is not likely that a diamond would be lost from your ring, but once in a while small gemstones are lost during cleaning of jewelry and if you clean your jewelry in a small bowl, you will always be able to see if any stones have become dislodged and have fallen out.
Be careful NOT to wash jewelry items in the sink, as they can easily get lost down the drain.
For fine jewelry, we recommend purchasing a home ultrasonic cleaner. These work VERY well and are miniature versions of the same professional ultrasonic jewelry cleaners that the majority of jewelers use, including us - we have several large models running in our office at all times. We recommend that you use liquid soap and hot water in your ultrasonic cleaner.
