Circa 1870, this antique Victorian brooch is uniquely wonderful! Hand crafted in 14K yellow gold, at its center is a bezel set, gorgeous deep rose-red cabochon garnet framed by a devoted circle of 10 lustrous natural seed pearls. Engraving and gold channels alternating with geometric taille d'epargne enamel complete the elaborate presentation. There is evidence of repair on the back, but the repair is solid. The back swivel pin and locking catch are not original but are securely soldered on and will not affect wearability or durability. A loop on the back was originally used for attachment of a safety chain, and gives this exquisite one of a kind brooch versatility for wear as a pendant or pin. This one of a kind estate brooch measures 1 inch in diameter, and is a perfect heirloom to collect and to wear when you want all eyes on you!
