Le Coultre Rectangle Moonphase Watch
W103
This extremely rare vintage Le Coultre rectangular moonphase triple date wristwatch dates from the 1940's. It features a complicated tonneau nickel lever 17 jewel movement, mono-metallic compensation balance, silvered matte dial with blued steel hands, sub dial combining seconds and phases of the moon, windows for months and days of the week, and an outer ring calibrated for date. Chased with engraved hour indexes, the gold filled case is signed as are the dial and movement. This hard to find signed LeCoultre moonphase watch has very minimal brassing and no personal engraving on the case back.
The seven functions of time that this watch performs mechanically in such a small (37.0 millimeter diameter) case are astounding considering that it was hand crafted over 60 years ago! In good working condition, this is a superb timepiece for the serious collector.
